What’s new in SEO trends this month affecting Dentists

    What’s new
    - GMB was renamed and is now called “Google Business Profile”.  This     happened a little while ago, but they really like changing the name of     this thing.
    - What’s more recent is the Admin dashboard is gone: you do all the work directly in search result page now.

    - The “EAT” score, which stands for “expertise - authoritativeness -     trustworthiness” is a bigger factor.  How can you take advantage of this     as a dentist?
        - Links from big medical journals: If you publish any research at     all (we have some clients that do!) try to get links back to your     website
        - Change blog authors to be the dentist name - often blogs get     written as “the dentist office name”, or something more generic, but     it’s more important to make the author the main dentist associated with     the practice.

What new strategies are working now
    - Refurbishing old content: Instead of writing more additional content,     we’re spending more time updating older more established content, a sort     of “evergreen content strategy”
    - We’ve found it more efficient to invest in SEO training for our     copywriters, instead of having copywriters do their thing and have the     SEO team go in afterwards.  This process still happens, but now there is     much less to do and it’s faster.
    - FAQs seem to be working more than blog posts for ranking “long tail”     type of search terms like “same day dental implants in [name of city]”

What’s not working as well as it used to
    - Lots of blog posts to try to support searches for searches/procedures (see FAQs)
    - Better to have less really good content, especially on your main service landing page

What we are testing that might work
    - Really long form blog posts that we update from time to time, ie: “The     ultimate guide to invisalign” in the form of a blog post
    - Q& A type white papers created with client assistance: Dentists     get asked questions + copywriters are writing the content, essentially a     long form whitepaper in the form of a blog post

Hope there is a nugget in there for you!

PS - sorry for the formatting on this, DT does not like my Google docs --> post conversion, but in a rush today
